This time of the year I can find myself so overwhelmed. The holidays lie before me with all their chaos and noise. The days and months leading up to this point are full of things I should have done. It is so easy to get discouraged by the done and the undone.

Yet the words of Psalm 23 never fail to remind me that with Him I will never want. I will never be without. I will always have the strength I need. I will always have everything I need.

The beautiful words of Matt Maher’s song ring out as a reminder of what we need to make it through our daily lives.

Only Him.

Lord I need only You. Remind me of that every time I protest because I don’t have what I want. When I whine about the things I think I should have. When I am once again covered up in too many activities that put aside the need and satisfy the want.

In the coming days and weeks, bring me to Your feet daily. Cover me in Your goodness and mercy all the days of my life. I want only to dwell with You.
